What We Offer...Our 7 day yoga intensive course, in Nong Khai, Thailand is designed to provide a thorough theoretical understanding of the basic principles of yoga as well as practical instruction in Asana (yoga postures), Dharana and Dhyana (meditation), Pranayama (breathing exercises), as well as a host of other important yoga practices. This is a uniquely serious but enjoyable 7 day program. The object of the one week intensive format is to empower the student with a complete and comprehensive understanding of the total yogic system, preparing and inspiring them to continue with their own independent practice at the end of the week. Great emphasis is placed on developing a spiritual approach to the practice of yoga. Various instructional aids and printed materials will be provided to the student to aid in this process and a diploma will be awarded upon completion of the course. Serious students of all levels of experience who are interested in a deeper understanding of Yogic practice as a path to ultimate self development will almost certainly find this course inspiring.
Daily Schedule...Although each day's program is different, the course runs between 6 and 7 hours a day. Each day is divided into two sessions. The morning session begins at 7:00 a.m. and lasts between 2 1/2 to 3 hours. This session is devoted mainly to the "hands on" practice of yoga. This includes detailed technical analysis of the various asanas which are approached in a 'vinyasa' style which emphasizes, not only the physio-therapeutic benifits of Asana practice, but also the deep meditative potential of physical movement. The afternoon session begins at 3:00 p.m. and lasts until approximately 7:00 p.m.. The typical afternoon begins with a discussion of yogic theory, both past and present, which is followed by breath exercise (Pranayama) and Asana practice. During the daily afternoon sessions, we include various esoteric yogic techniques and exercises such as: "cyclic" meditation, tantric chakra meditation, trataka meditation, and mantra practice. For interested students, there are also additional optional 1 hour sitting meditation periods both in the morning from 6:00-7:00 a.m, and also, in between the regular morning and afternoon sessions from 2:00-3:00 p.m.. Courses begin on the 1st and 15th of each month. Please note that there are occasional scheduled holidays. Check our "events" page for specific weekly schedules.
